"Learning is what most adults will do for a living in the 21st century."
The Instruction and School Services Department is responsible for the promotion of learning outcomes through the implementation of the provincial core curriculum. Instruction and School Services is also responsible for the school system administration, including staffing, the supervision of instruction, program delivery, school organization, and special education. It is also responsible for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating programs, student evaluation, instructional resources, staff development, program consultant services, library services, material loans and purchases, and audio visual services. The key components of the 2009-10 Regina Public Schools learning agenda will include an enhanced focus on the following priorities as identified in the Regina Public Schools Continuous Improvement Plan:
Each school in the division works with their school community to develop a Learning Improvement Plan that is aligned with these division priorities. School plans reflect a commitment to the essential curriculum outcomes and indicators in literacy and numeracy. Learning Improvement Plans are developed based on common assessments. These plans are designed to stimulate growth and improve student achievement. These priorities will emerge in an atmosphere of caring and will be supported by a Circle of Courage philosophy and an awareness of cultural diversity. |
