Welcome to the RPS Mathematics Website. Teachers are invited to visit the "Elementary" or "Secondary" link to view information about our new mathematics curricula and Math Make Sense. You can find "At a Glance" documents for our new curriculum and a list of math manipulatives needed in the new Math Makes Sense program. We have just added a "Parent" link to support parents in understanding the new math curriculum and resources.
General Mathematics Announcements:
U of R Mathematics Problem Solving Sessions (2012)
Patrick Maidorn, U of R, invites students from Grades 7-12 to their Mathematics Problem Solving Sessions on alternating Mondays in the University Ridell Centre Room RC 286. Please note that their session time has changed slightly to 6:30-8:30 PM. The first session is Monday, January 16th, 6:30 PM. Subsequent sessions are Jan 30, Feb 13, Feb 27, Mar 12, and Mar 26. This semester, they will be focusing on some of the upcoming Mathematics competitions, such as the Saskatchewan Math Challenge and the University of Waterloo contests. If you haven't done so already, you should start thinking about registering for these contests. Deadlines are coming up soon! Information about students who are using Kurzweil: Pearson will give students free access to an electronic version of the Math Makes Sense textbook to use with Kurzweill if the student has their own print version of the textbook. (Note, Pearson now has Kurzweill for all their resources). See instructions for ordering this resource.
